Oren Demaree (a.k.a. "Uncle Oren")

Oren  Demaree is Sweetie's uncle.  He is the son of John Samuel Demaree (1847-1936) and Clarissa Evelyn Elkins (1855-1926), and as such, is Chester Demaree, M.D.'s brother.

Oren is one of the members of Sweetie's extended family on the Demaree side.  In a letter that Chester writes to Sweetie in December 1949, he notes that Oren's son, and Sweetie's first cousin, Donald Demaree, has contracted polio.  The news reported about Donald that he was in the hospital for at least three months to recover.
